Air India has leased slots in Heathrow from Garuda Indonesia. On the 21st of February, the Indonesian airline carried out their last flight from London Heathrow to Nyarah Rai Bali International via Kuala Namu International.

Air India has the slots leased for two years, expiring at the end of Summer 2021. The airline intend to use them for flights to Mumbai International. Flights are scheduled to take place as soon restrictions are lifted due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The airline has a large fleet of 172 aircraft with 27 of those being the Boeing 787-800. Air India plan to use the wide body aircraft to carry out their flights from London Heathrow.
