Emirates have just announced that the U.A.E. government has approved to operate passenger flights to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich and Brussels. These flights will be commencing on the 6th of April. This unusual circumstance where airlines have been reducing flight, Emirates have decided to increase them! The flights will carry passengers outbound from Dubai only. This is in order to help those stranded abroad to get home. There will be four flights to London Heathrow and three flights to any other city weekly from Dubai. Emirates will be operating from a Dubai’s terminal two for the time being using the Boeing 777-300ER. They will also be holding cargo flights in both directions to support trade and communities with the transport of essential goods.
However, the airline has stated on Instagram that: ‘The safety and well being of our customers and crew remain our top priority.’ As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Emirates have put in place a modified inflight service programme. All magazines and other printed products will no longer be available. Food and beverages will still be allowed but packing and presentation will be modified to reduce contact during the meal service. Other unavailable services will be Emirates‘ Lounge and the Chauffeur Drive. After each flight, the aircraft will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
