Spicejet operated a cargo flight on the 18th of April 2020 from Kolkata to Agartala. The Boeing 737-800 registered VT-SGX transported an essential food supply of 3294kg for the State to the North of the country. The aircraft proceeded to fly to Imphal after delivering the supplies to Agartala.

The aircraft operated flight SG7101 from Kolkata (CCU/VECC) to Agartala (IXA/VEAT). This flight lasted for 35 minutes. VT-SGX later carried on to Imphal Airport (IMP/VEIM) operating flight SG7102 lasting 44 minutes.

The airline has a rather large fleet of 82 Boeing 737, two Airbus A320, 32 Bombardier Q-400s and five B737 freighters. They used to be a heavy operator of the Boeing 737 MAX before it became grounded. The airline unfortunately struggled with this lack of aircraft but thankfully recovered greatly. In 2019, the airline grew by 60% and added 40 new aircraft to its fleet despite the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX. Spicejet began wet leasing their two Airbus A320s in late February to tackle the Coronavirus outbreak.

Spicejet weren't the only airline transporting supplies to Agartala that day. Air India arrived from Delhi on the 18th of April to deliver food and medical supplies. For more information on this operation and on the airline click here.
